Procedures for filing a Hatch Project

1. Go to CRIS homepage http://cwf.uvm.edu/cris.
2. Click "Work Unit Description (AD-416/AD17/2008)" Botton on the left.
3. Select "Alabama" on the U.S. Map.
4. Select: ALA - Agricultural Experiment Station, Auburn University or other units as appropriate; enter password: (click here to obtain the password or contact John Liu) then click “proceed”.
5. Enter your last name and click “proceed”
6. Click “Hatch project”, and then click “New” Initiate a new project form
7. for item 5, project number, use ALA0 (zero, not O) plus your last name, e.g. ALA0Liu
8. complete lines 6 through 20
9. Click “check and save”
10. If correct, click “go to screen 2”, and fill in all the required boxes
11. Click “check and save”
12. If correct, click “confirm information”
13. On the confirmation screen, load your Hatch proposal by clicking “Outline”
14. Upload project outline An outline has NOT been uploaded for this project.
15. After loading the proposal, click “Return” to "Project / Form Selection"
16. Under “Forms”, click AD-417 to complete Project classification. You can find the codes for Knowledge Area , Subject of Investigation, and Field of Science by clicking “Classification Assistance” botton (1) , you may fill as many lines as you see fit, but the total must be 100% for each.
17. Click “check data”, the confirm information.
18. Click “Return” to "Project / Form Selection"
19. Click CSREES 2008 button to complete assurances concerning Recombinant DNA, Human subjects, and Animal Warefare.
