Policy for Hatch Project Submission and Renewal

  1. It is the responsibility of the faculty member to have an active Hatch project if the faculty member has employment with the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station. Projects and their dates of termination are listed on the AAES Web site at http://www.aaes.auburn.edu/researchlinks.php . To check if your Hatch project is active or to access the most current list of projects, go to the CRIS Web site (http://cwf.uvm.edu/cris/), click “Accomplishments Report (AD421),” click Alabama map, select Auburn University Agricultural Experiment Station, enter the password (click here to obtain the password or contact John Liu),” enter your last name in the box, and hit return. All the projects with your last name will show up along with the project start and end date.
  2. Project outlines should follow guidelines listed at http://www.aaes.auburn.edu/researchlinks.php.
  3. New projects and project extensions must be approved by the AAES Director prior to June 30 to be eligible for AAES internal competitive funding programs.
  4. The Department Heads/Chairs are requested to have the project reviewed through the College/School/Departmental Hatch Project Committee The departmental approved Hatch project should then be submitted to the AAES Assistant Director by June 30.
  5. The AAES Assistant Director may send the project out for ad hoc reviews. If necessary, the project may need to be revised based on the results of these reviews. The new project should be ready to be submitted to CRIS by July 1. This should give CRIS time to get projects approved by the September 30 USDA deadline.
