Alabama is naturally rich in forests, wildlife and soil. Preserving this abundance of natural resources and protecting the environment are crucial components of research programs at several AAES research centers and units throughout the state. Soil fertility research receives attention at both the Prattville Agricultural Research Unit and the E.V. Smith Research Center Field Crops Unit while the EVSRC Farm Services Unit conducts research on erosion control with the College of Agriculture’s Department of Biosystems Engineering and the Alabama Department of Transportation. |
